Balan: The Boy (Malayalam) – July 31
Written by Jithu Madhavan, best known for directing Romancham (2023) and Aavesham (2024), and directed by Chidambaram of Manjummel Boys fame, the film is nothing like what you might expect based on their previous works. It is a completely different beast.
A psychological thriller, the story follows a boy searching for his mother, a woman who has lived under multiple names in multiple places while taking up various daily wage jobs. The boy was initially raised in a women’s correctional facility. After his mother is released, she begins changing her identity repeatedly. Every time they move to a new town, both mother and son assume new identities to conceal their past.

However, when the boy grows into a teenager, his mother suddenly disappears. Determined to find her, he begins investigating her past, hoping to uncover why they spent their lives hiding their identities from the world and what secrets she had been running from.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 – July 29
In The Devil Wears Prada 2, Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, and Emily Blunt reprise their respective roles nearly 20 years after the events of the first film. The premise may feel a bit familiar, but the story follows two strangers whose lives intersect in Varanasi, one of India’s holiest pilgrimage destinations. Leela, a woman from Tamil Nadu, arrives as part of a tour group but soon loses contact with them after misplacing her phone and purse, leaving her stranded in an unfamiliar city where she doesn’t understand the local language.
Her fortunes change when she meets Madhavan Master, a retired schoolteacher from Kerala, who offers to help her. As he takes her under his wing, the two gradually develop a warm and meaningful bond. But does their relationship grow into something more than friendship?

A six-part limited drama based on the real-life incident of the deadliest terrorist attack on British soil. Pan Am Flight 103 was destroyed by a bomb, killing all 259 people on board and 11 people on the ground over the Scottish town of Lockerbie. The series follows the subsequent investigation, with local police, the FBI, and multiple international agencies joining forces in an inquiry that spans several countries and decades.

Set in a noir version of Gotham City during the 1940s, the story unfolds at a time when the city’s criminal underworld is more ruthless than ever. Yet another young adult survival horror thriller where sharks hunt humans.
