Producer and distributor Bharat Patel released his film Patel Ki Punjabi Shaadi in 2015 that starred Rishi Kapoor and Paresh Rawal in lead roles. However, Sunny Leone was supposed to have a dance number in the film, but due to some reason the song had to be scrapped. And now Patel has alleged that he had paid Rs 5 lakh to Sunny as assigning amount, but neither did she do the song nor has she returned the money.
“According to the deal, Sunny was supposed to be paid a total of Rs 40 lakh for the song – Rs 5 lakh as signing amount, Rs 5 lakh after the look test, Rs 10 lakh during the rehearsals and the remaining Rs 10 lakh during the promotions,” Patel told Times Now.
He added, “Sunny was paid Rs 5 lakh as the signing amount but after that when she was called to discuss the dates with the other actors and the other details that needed to be finalised before the shoot, she did not respond to the production team’s calls and messages.”
Patel even sent a legal notice to Sunny in 2017 to get his signing amount back.
However, a source close to Sunny rubbishes the producer’s version and says that the actress was ready to shoot for the song and had also allotted specific dates for it. “But there was a lot of back and forth on the dates and the makers kept changing the shoot dates. As a result, Sunny allotted her free dates to other projects. She’s a professional. How would she keep dealing with so much back and forth?”
Sunny Leone is famous for her item numbers in Bollywood movies. She entered in Bollywood from Pooja Bhatt’s Jism. This was followed by roles in films like Ragini MMS 2 and Ek Paheli Leela.
