Kangana Ranaut gearing for the release of ‘Manikarnika – The Queen of Jhansi’, says even though it was unsettling at the start she thought as a woman she could do justice to the film in both roles.
Kangana interacted with the media on the sidelines of her fashion designer friend Neeta Lulla’s Christmas Bash along with Ankita Lokhande in Mumbai on Tuesday.
Talking about the positive response Manikarnika trailer has received, Kangana said, “I feel that’s the result of the teamwork. Initially, I found it unsettling but then, I felt that as a woman I can do justice to the film as an actor and as a director. I think God has been kind and I am happy doing both roles. We are very excited for the release of the film. We just can’t wait to present the film in front of the audience.”
Apart from playing the titular role, Kangana also honed the director’s title after the previous director Krish had to part from the film because of other commitments.
Talking about being criticized by the public, Kangana said, “I feel people who are not saying good things about me or my film will have to shut their mouths after watching the film and people who are saying good things, their mouths can’t be shut by anyone, this is what I feel.”
‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’, an epic biopic on Rani Laxmi Bai of Jhansi. Kangana Ranaut will be seen playing the titular role of Rani Laxmibai while Lokhande will be seen in the supporting role of Jhalkaribai.
The film produced by Zee Studios in association with Kamal Jain & Nishant Pitti the film will release on 25th January 2019.
