I know we don’t require any introduction for the man who known by for his political and Socio-Political films such as Damul, Mrityudand, Gagaajal, Apaharan, Raajneeti and many more.
Yes, you are right we are talking about the Director, Producer, Screenwriter and Actor Prakash Jha. We have seen him as an actor in Jai Gangaajal and he is coming back to show his talent as an actor in a short film “Justaju – The Longing”
The film is going to release on the 23rd of November, 2018 on shortcut Channel, Apart from Prakash Jha, Sarika, Shishir Sharma, Onkar Das Manikpuri and Saharsh Shukla is also a part of the film.
I had a conversation with Mr. Prakash Jha and we discussed the film and his experience in the industry. Here is the glimpse of the conversation.
“I want to start with a big Congratulations for the Best Actor award for your performance in Justaju.
Me: My first question to you is, How the Justaju come to your way? Whose idea was to cast you as Valmiki.
Prakash Jha: “Director Mudassir Mashalkar came to me with a project, he met me around two years back in an international film festival and he proposed a project at a time, Even he had already written a script and I also find it interesting as its a story of a man who finds stories in other’s life. A man who was retired and his life was imbalanced. Its a story of man fan who find the story in others life and relate their story with his own story and they that story brokes at the end. So, Its Mudassir’s idea to cast me for this role.”
Me: Let’s talk about your acting, we have seen your acting in Jai Gangaajal and everyone loved your acting, even in this trailer we have seen many of the comments in the comment section who appraised you as an actor. Now, my question is do you have any plan in your mind for your acting. Any plan to use this talent in your own film a lead role.?
Prakash Jha: “These things are not planned, its a process, a creative process, be a direction, writing, or Sound recording or to make a set. Similarly, acting is a form of expression and I was doing this with the help of other actors. I had no issue with it. So I have added another thing in my form of expression and I am enjoying this”
Me: How was your experience working with a team of Justaju, like Shishir Sharma, Sarika, Onkar das, Saharash Kumar, Aayushi Lahiri, Varun Tiwari, and all technicians.
Prakash Jha: “I have learned something from everyone, they all had worked in the industry and it’s nice to work with everyone.”
Me: Also, I have seen the trailer it was so compelling and holds me to see what next. Now we want to know how was your reaction about Justaju when you saw it for the first-time post-production.?
Prakash Jha:
As Justaju already got so much of appreciation during the film festivals, Do you ever think that this subject has the capability to make a full movie on this?
Me: Being as producer, actor, director and screenwriter you have achieved many mile stones, and you journey was a motivation for many the youngsters and new comers. From your life’s experience, What do you want to share to youngsters you want to share with them?
Prakash Jha: Enjoy your life with Joy, Do what you love, Give your 100% in everything that you do. If enjoy to do what you love. That thing will always be good.
Me: I remember one of your interview that you have given to Aajtak in 2016, you said that you always try to learn new things, and that time you were learning piano because to love to play piano. Now What new thing that you are learning now, anything not if not professionally may be personally for your interest.
Prakash Jha: I am trying to do, whenever I gets time. I do new things. Corrently I am busy with many things hence getting less time to such things. however there are many things that I wants to do.
Me: Now when it’s going to release on 23rd November, If I ask you that if you find anything that you want to change in the film or it could be better if that part will shoot again or added in the film.
Prakash Jha: It was completely Mudsasir’s character and his imagination and I was trying to fullfill his need to portray his character. I tryed and if we can try more then we might get better than this. There is no end of acting, as long we go deep we gets more.
Me: My last question What’s your view about today’s cinema and audience, how do you find current scenario is terms of quality of content and quality of audience.
Prakash Jha: It’s not Audience who change on time changed and when time change everything gets changed.
